wedding season + dreaming of vacation

Not your ordinary bride, I take pride in the looks I create for the bridal day, taking into account skin tone, hair color and even lifestyle. Yesterday's red headed bride had a smokey eye with accents of green,burl brown and champagne on the brow bone perfect to show off her hazel eyes. A soft rose lip with hints of coral gloss on her lips. A sprinkle of twinkle shimmer like fairy dust on her shoulders and decolletage perfect to show off a strapless gown.

Happy Friday to you, may you have a dreamy one. Busy in the Salon with Weddings, fashion shows and the usual salon bustle, yes I feel blessed. All of this vacation talk with clients reminds me of how much I miss them, until then living vicariously through these lovely pics. Any dreamy vacation plans for you soon?

I always bring my dancing shoes, with music and culture beckoning all around.

Some how my energy is just endless and sleep is a mere thought not a necessity, it must be that humid, hot weather, oh and when in tropical weather forget the flat iron just enjoy the curls and let your skin glow.

kool-aid color craze

Sunglass designer Giles Deacon embraces the latest water-color craze for tresses. Hair is lightened and then dipped into the most pigmented hues of pink, turquoise, and blue.

These splashes of color inspire me to just want to do something fun with some summer streaks, how about you? Are you doing something daring for summer? I love the ballerina inspired tutus must be the little girl in me!

I use mine in a spray bottle so I can clean immediately after using, softly pat on a soft, white, terry towel until all make up residue is gone

As a Make up Artist that's always been #1 on my list, somehow at home with my own make up brushes I slack off until a break out occurs. Usually the best way to clean them is to use shampoo I used this one because it was in my shower and I know that it's a great cleansing shampoo without stripping (Care for the bristle hair is important). * I dip mine in the sink with sudsy, shampoo and dip again into clean water until it is clear. More fun to get your shine on here

hair to make up {tips + links}

Yesterday in the Salon I received these pretty products from the lovely Carina over at Everyday Minerals. My clients scheduled hair appointment turned into a make up demo as well. I love to see what's in your make up bag of tricks! 

I've been searching for a new foundation and this one is lovely on my client a little heavy for me, but I liked the coverage, my tip for summer* mix a little moisturizer with a heavier foundation so it becomes more of a tinted moisturizer.

 This pressed powder was used as a highlighter under eyes, *my tip for summer I prefer a glow and love primers like this one from Fresh that leave a little more radiance.

heaven on earth with this little souffle pot of gold. Perfect for an eye primer not too shimmery either and just glides on. A dusting of floating feather's is so sheer and could easily be used as a highlighter.

Speaking of gold, expect to drop a chunk of it for this decadent eye liner. My clients liner looked ooh lalalicious and not too overdone. Did I mention my client likes luxury treatment? She deserves it too, this mascara works wonders on her, my personal experience too heavy for me and weighed down my lashes  J'adore Dior

a little bronzer like this one from Mac can easily be a staple for contouring as well as adding a summer glow. You can also choose one with shimmer, I like both, *not a big shimmer fan add a little on your decolletage and see how many compliments you get!

The lips, love this color another favorite is Orgasm gloss by Nars.

By the way this shimmery pot was a dead ringer for Super Orgasm blush, and more than half the price!

One of the things I love about blogging are the dreamy pictures that go along with creative writing. Daydreaming myself a lot lately. Books have been my childhood passion and so glad I still enjoy them now. Sometimes a good read like this one with scientific evidence to back up theory on nocturnal behavior relating to sleep and eating patterns is great. Other times a light read is all I need. It's like a workout sometimes you really sweat it out and sometimes a brisk walk is just as good. Same for my bike. Reading this new blog reminded me of how fabulous it is to be able to get outside and ride. I love to feel the breeze, and the benefit of cardio in the mix. Sometimes all I need is a light afternoon ride with the benefit of natural Vitamin D from the sun to get me ready for summer. These are the  books I am currently finishing, about to read, and on my library list. What are you doing this summer a little day dreaming too?

Shaper fierce, I like it too!

I agree don't scrimp on a good hair dryer. These high powered tools minimize the amount of drying  time with the right amount of heat and technology. The cuticle smoothing, and moisture retention that an expensive dryer has, will save your hair in the long run.

Mason Pearson the Rolls Royce of brushes costs a pretty penny but again, makes a difference in smoothing the hair especially with all the rage Brazilian Blowouts. I always recommend having a good boar bristle on hand too.

A smoothing product is essential for letting hair dry naturally devoid of frizz or taming while blow drying. I know Morrocan oil is all the rage, but my personal experience has been it leaves a bit of a residue in the hair. If it works for you please let me know, I'm willing to give  it another try.  My favorite smoothing serums: Sebastian Trilliant ( leaves a halo of sparkle in the hair) and liquid gloss. Originally seen on Gwyneth's Goop I would love to try this finishing treatment to see if it's worth every penny.
