This new online magazine Beautyetc with simply glamorous inspiration on how to step outside the make up artist box with cool streaks, shimmery saturation, and fun accents. When I am preparing for a show I like to look at a lot of inspiration and take a dive into something new that peaks my interest. I think show stopping make up onstage needs some dramatic saturation of color like this with lots of lashes. What do you think?
A similar color palate of shimmer and pastels, it just goes to show sometimes the best make up is timeless just like Audrey here

happy friday {room with a model view}
A closet view of things that a girl loves, like ruffled blouses, a big armchair to sit in while deciding what Louboutins to wear ..dreamy! I love the accents like the handbag with it's whimsical statement, lets you know a girl with a sense of humor lives here. I am always looking for ways to adorn my book shelves and show off lovely antique finds. I love cosmetics in full view wonder what's in those gold boxes? Gotta love a girl who still uses Aqua Net, my old favorite to make my hair stay like glue. You can see more of Coco Rocha's home here.

family affair {living the life of lauder }
For Aerin Lauder, who is the senior vice president and creative director for Estée Lauder, the flagship brand of the Estée Lauder Companies, it really is a family affair. She was groomed from an early age by her grandmother, Estée, and her parents. But it’s dedication, not privilege, that gives her an edge. Like most working parents, this mother of two tries to balance a high-octane schedule with family time. Here are some things surrounding her and inspiring her living the life of Lauder.
a gold mirror a gift from grandmother Estee
she favors handwritten notes
un chocolat, have you tasted these? Just the sight of the box makes me drool.
gift giving includes this mini with a musical play list
family time especially reading with her children
her love of the beach as a child
probably has a lot to do with her love of her favorite place to visit , Il San Pietro di Positano in Italy.
her personal style at home
is filled with flowers
even the lovely bar has an orchid alongside
a simple necklace
gold clutch
I don't know about you, but I noticed a common theme, everything she touches is gold.
Maybe I need to try this favorite product of hers too!

bronze beauty {kate moss}
this Vogue campaign with Kate Moss as a castaway took my breath away, her lips shimmer with a lipgloss for summer like this that I love a nude with a champagne simmer
a glimpse of beautiful bronze skin with just the right lighting showing off her glow
long leather straps that wind around the legs are my favorite for summer

for hair, dry shampoos with color like these work wonders for your streaky locks

what are you wearing on your skin this summer?
I just pulled out this bronzer if I can look half as good as Kate I'm happy

The wow factor with make up colors like this palette of golds and bronze and champagne a good rule of thumb for a 5 minute quickie when it comes to summer make up, my personal favorite for summer are creams. If you want to add a little powder try this Citrus infused one from Jurlique. What gives you the wow factor for summer skin? More summer fun tips here.

eye catching + happy friday
since were in the gold theme how about a little glow below
I love a luminescent touch of translucency
perhaps that's why I love Lucite
A friend of mine asked me for some beauty advice about lashes. She was excited about adding a few individual lashes semi permanently. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. This service involves adding individual lashes to your own lash line and the adhesion is a special lash glue. More info here. Usually this time of year when the weather is changing from Spring to Summer as well as the Holiday festivities is when it is all the rage. I remember last summer at my usual gym time 5:30am for spin, instead of sleepy headed girls all of a sudden some of my gym buddies were looking quiet bright eyed and batting some serious lash at that hour! You can't fool a hairstylist, at least not this one. I am all about maintenance, as long as it is in moderation. Continual replacement of the lashes can cause stress and premature lash loss, but then there is always Latisse! Lashes for me? Absolutely I love a lash for work, for play, hot night out or just for fun. What do you think of these lashes...Happy Friday and happy dreaming!images: luxuryculture,style.com

chanel eye candy

Love the look of Chanel's Spring Atelier collection as seen in Elle es. Not only was I inspired by the eye embellishments of sequins and pearls but I got to brush up on my reading in español. I always love the behind the scenes action as seen here via Vogue TV. Check out Chanel's global creative director, Peter Philips give some great make up blending advice, prep for a Chanel runway show with a peak at legend Karl Lagerfield, as well as the making of these lovely embroidered lashes. True make up artistry at it's best along with a little model mayhem. Another way to create this look; Starry Eyed glitter eyeliner's by TwoFaced, along with a little white eyeliner lining the lower rim of your eye like this followed by a flutter of lashes

bad gal lashes
The eyes are the window to your soul. I like to share this message with clients as I am making them up. Great lashes are like a tiara, a crown of glory. You can peer thru them even in the wee hours and still feel confident that you look good. I haven't been feeling like that lately, I feel like I am losing my lashes. This happens to me every year at this time. It's like a dog shedding it's winter coat. (and I don't mind being compared to them, as I Love mine)! Could it be that I am using too many of those lash boosting mascara's? Or is it the carnuba wax or petroleum. According to this article carnuba wax is good for lashes. I have even changed eye make up removers from Dior to Lancome to plain old Ponds. Instead of picking up some Lattisse. I bought this product and have a sample of this product from Sephora. I also decided to go back to what works Bad Gal Lash by Benefit. Inspired by this video from one of the best Celebrity Make up artist's, Scott Barnes

beauty changes lives

Just looking at these lovely little totes shown here, made me swoon. I love a little handbag that you can take from day to night. I have my little gold clutch packed up and ready to go but had to leave my little travel bag behind for my big bag to carry all of the hair gear, blowdryers, curling irons, etc. and my high heels of course! Traveling to the Southwest, to a Convention for the AACS. Nothing like working with some of my mentors in the beauty biz to give me a thrill. Looking forward to sharing lots of great new looks for the season when I return. Something fun to do if you are in L.A. this weekend, hop on the party train.

lashes to die for

Loving anything Madonna related and I especially love long lashes. I don't really believe in the mink thing. Here are some options for glitterazzi lashes with out hurting any furry beings on the planet. For me, my daily lash fix comes from Diorhshow with Blackout as seen here.
Good news, according to Madonna's make up artist, the other Gina. No harm done to the minks of the earth. "The animals shed during the winter months, so we take the sheddings and we hand-make the lashes." I remember the same question being asked about certain make up brushes made of sable from horse tail bristle. What do you think?
