it's like this stud

I keep seeing hints of studs on shoes again for fall. What do you think are studs back? If so I may hang on to my studded booties.

or how about this studded bootie?

Don't drool too long they're already sold out.  Darn I never act fast enough. These booties would have been perfect. Haircutting in a high heels is taking it's toll and an open toe for fall really helps and a wedge is an added bonus. I love flashy shoes but these may just be too trendy, what do you think, did I miss the boat?

hair to make up {tips + links}

Yesterday in the Salon I received these pretty products from the lovely Carina over at Everyday Minerals. My clients scheduled hair appointment turned into a make up demo as well. I love to see what's in your make up bag of tricks!

I've been searching for a new foundation and this one is lovely on my client a little heavy for me, but I liked the coverage, my tip for summer* mix a little moisturizer with a heavier foundation so it becomes more of a tinted moisturizer.

This pressed powder was used as a highlighter under eyes, *my tip for summer I prefer a glow and love primers like this one from Fresh that leave a little more radiance.
heaven on earth with this little souffle pot of gold. Perfect for an eye primer not too shimmery either and just glides on. A dusting of floating feather's is so sheer and could easily be used as a highlighter.

Speaking of gold, expect to drop a chunk of it for this decadent eye liner. My clients liner looked ooh lalalicious and not too overdone. Another alternative and my favorite gel liner is by Bobbie Brown. For a great tutorial Scroll down and click on the smokey under eye slideshow. A make up artist never knows enough, I love good tips.

Did I mention my client likes luxury treatment? She deserves it too, this mascara works wonders on her, my personal experience too heavy for me and weighed down my lashes  J'adore Dior

a little bronzer like this one from Mac can easily be a staple for contouring as well as adding a summer glow. You can also choose one with shimmer, I like both, *not a big shimmer fan add a little on your decolletage and see how many compliments you get!

The lips, love this color another favorite is Orgasm gloss by Nars.
By the way this shimmery pot was a dead ringer for Super Orgasm blush, and more than half the price!

There you have it my friends a little love for my client Cristiina for sharing her make up bag and to Carina at Everyday Minerals. Check out her site and all of the fun things she incorporates with her philanthropy and this blog. Happy Weekend to you!

Inspiration Galliano + SJP Voque 2010

More inspirational Galliano here

My favorite part is the backstage make up and hair preparations that go into pictorial shoots like this. You can see more of the inspirational Galliano backstage preparedness here
Just wanted to add this tidbit of loveliness from the upcoming Voque magazine. This dress in one of the pictorials fresh off of the Dior runway via the fantabulous (fantastic/fabulous) Anna Wintour, as only she could do and only Sarah could wear so well.  This little video from the Voque shoot is truly inspirational and a little tell all of the women SJP really is more so than the Carrie Bradshaw we first knew and now love. Looking forward to the movie!

twilight

Twilight , is the lluminating sheer cream primer from my favorite beauty line, Fresh.  I love the consistency of this primer leaves your skin feeling dewey and hydrated with evening primrose which has such antioxidant benefits as well as anti-aging. I take this in supplement form as well . I can't say enough about the Umbrian Clay foundation. Very hydrating, less is more, you don't need to use much yet gives lasting coverage, SPF 20! I layered over the primer and my skin was glowing all day long. FYI, purchases at Sephora are gifted with complimentary samples.  I always like to try a new perfume or have one for my cosmetic bag like this fig apricot one. Anti-aging products are my best friend. Fresh, Black Tea age delay face cream and eye cream are my overnighters I will let you know how youthful I look after using!  I haven't indulged in Sugar for a while and I missed it! Since it's all about the eyes this winter Dior gives me some dark sultry lashes with Blackout and  a second coat so I they look long and lush with Diorshow. As a make up artist I constantly like to learn from other's what rocks in their make up world. My Sephora artist was into Nars highlighting duos. I love Nars famous for the blush with the name that makes you gasp, and works. Now that I shared my favorites, what are yours?

skin caviar

have been thinking of my Perricone products that I opted out of buying yesterday. I have literally been using a coffee stirrer to scrape the last of my Epicuren out of it's jar. As most beauty industry experts know it pays off for us to do our home work and I am constantly researching new products. I think just like hair products skin being made up of the same Keratin, it's important to change skin care products regularly or mix it up. I have spoken in the past of my love of Dior. The Capture Totale line is anti-aging and the eye cream is amazing and uplifting. To make things more enticing a new higher end line has been introduced, L'Or De Vie in gold jars no less promising the gift of regenerating and improving skin. On the subject of anti-aging, I like Dr Brandts (Madonna's dermatologist) method of beauty preservation and restoration. He restores the skin with fillers instead of cutting. Youthfulness also comes with less make up. In the summertime especially using a little concealer to even out skin tones or a tinted moisturizer like this one from Stila with an SPF 15 gives you that shimmery glow that only summertime brings that is good as gold.

J'adore dior

Nothing makes me happier than feeling the glow and hydration of good skin. Beside what I do daily to make my self look and feel the best. A good nights sleep and daily exercise can also be complimented with good skin care and great make up. I love to indulge in Dior skin care starting with my eyes. Capture Totale for eyes contains a rare Longoza plant combined with Centuline which prolongs the youthful appearance of the skin, it does work because I recently took a break and used a cheaper version of another eye cream and could see what I was missing. Capture Totale is like an instant eye lift. Next Dior HydrAction Deep Hydration Radical Serum before applying foundation gives a moisture boost to the skin with natural radiance. In warmer weather a tinted moisturizer such as Diorskin Nude a fresh, weightless, foundation, and finish hydrates the skin as it conceals imperfections and creates a radiantly, natural, true-life glow. Diorskin Nude is perfect for summer bare skin with an added bonus of SPF 10. Diorskin Shimmer Star a sheer and shimmering all-over face bronzer brightens the complexion with an of translucent sparkles that can be used on the eyes and cheeks or all over for instant glow. For drenched lips nothing adds color and instant seductiveness than a swipe of Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect on the lips in shimmering Lacy Apricot. To complete the look for eyelashes that look like butterflies, start with Diorshow Black Out Mascara saturate with one to two coats of this mascara with it’s unique blend of black pigments to lengthen and add the doe-eyed effect, finish off with Diorshow Mascara for glamorous thicker lashes. When it’s time to take it all off, Duo-Phase Eye Makeup Remover removes all traces of make up gently and leaves lashes soft to the touch. You can leave on your Miss Dior Chérie with it’s citrusy freshness and a jasmine heart sprinkled with fruity strawberry notes, and the elegance of patchouli will rest assured sweet dreams to you and me. Buona notte.
