starry eyed

You may know about my favorite Starry eyed tattoo artist, Kat Von D but did you know she now has a new clothing line?
I want a pair of those skin script inspired leggings!
Kat also has her own art gallery, Wonderland where you can see the likes of work like this above from Kevin Llewellyn' who's gothic art reminds me of a cross between Dia De Los Muertosinspired Calaveras mixed with darkness.
I have always been intrigued by the darkness she displays in many of her tattoos and look yet her softer femininity comes through with a strong attachment to her culture, both Mexican and German. She can also play a bad-ass Beethoven tune.
Girlfriend also has a bitchin make up line at Sephora has some of the best pearlized pigment I've worked with, perfect when you want a little shimmer for that starry eyed look that makes a statement, Just like her tattoos.

bad gal lashes

The eyes are the window to your soul. I like to share this message with clients as I am making them up. Great lashes are like a tiara, a crown of glory. You can peer thru them even in the wee hours and still feel confident that you look good. I haven't been feeling like that lately, I feel like I am losing my lashes. This happens to me every year at this time.  It's like a dog shedding it's winter coat. (and I don't mind being compared to them, as I Love mine)! Could it be that I am using too many of those lash boosting mascara's? Or is it the carnuba wax or petroleum. According to this article carnuba wax is good for lashes. I have even changed eye make up removers  from Dior to Lancome to plain old Ponds. Instead of picking up some Lattisse. I bought this product and have a sample of this product from Sephora. I also decided to go back to what works Bad Gal Lash by Benefit. Inspired by this video from one of the best  Celebrity Make up artist's, Scott Barnes. Beside giving great lash, he makes everyone look soft, sexy, with the art of blending, and balancing color on the skin so that is glows.

working up a sweat is good for the skin and good for the body
just ask her.

or you could fake it with this bronzer from Sephora.  With the sunny,
beautiful, L.A. temperatures lately couldn't resist. Are you loving it?

twilight

Twilight , is the lluminating sheer cream primer from my favorite beauty line, Fresh.  I love the consistency of this primer leaves your skin feeling dewey and hydrated with evening primrose which has such antioxidant benefits as well as anti-aging. I take this in supplement form as well . I can't say enough about the Umbrian Clay foundation. Very hydrating, less is more, you don't need to use much yet gives lasting coverage, SPF 20! I layered over the primer and my skin was glowing all day long. FYI, purchases at Sephora are gifted with complimentary samples.  I always like to try a new perfume or have one for my cosmetic bag like this fig apricot one. Anti-aging products are my best friend. Fresh, Black Tea age delay face cream and eye cream are my overnighters I will let you know how youthful I look after using!  I haven't indulged in Sugar for a while and I missed it! Since it's all about the eyes this winter Dior gives me some dark sultry lashes with Blackout and  a second coat so I they look long and lush with Diorshow. As a make up artist I constantly like to learn from other's what rocks in their make up world. My Sephora artist was into Nars highlighting duos. I love Nars famous for the blush with the name that makes you gasp, and works. Now that I shared my favorites, what are yours?

eye candy

I love the simplicity of hair that makes a statement such as this model with her chignon piled high on top of her head. These lovely pink ruffles are from Valentino I love the models naturally made up face with emphasis on eyes! Speaking of eyes I made a mad dash to Sephora in need of new mascara recommended to me, I also purchased a lash revitalizer. I didn't know there was such a thing but it worked at the end of a 12 hour day my eyes still felt alive so much that I felt like happy hour hopping with friends but decided to keep myself rested for my bridal day ahead. Leaving you with a little Sugar for Sweet Dreams!
