wedding by the sea

busy weekend a lovely wedding with a beautiful view
a light hand and feathery strokes make for the prettiest lip and eyeliner
the lingering scent of the bride was so sweet and memorable as I made her up for her wedding, one of my favorites from Jo Malone
something borrowed something blue, the bride in a wedding bliss forgot some of her jewels, I lent her mine
the bridesmaid wore some darling jewel embellished flats

  • It's Sunday and it's been a whirlwind weekend wedding affair with make up and hair for a bride and her bridesmaid. A special Birthday celebration continues with drinks at sunset by the ocean here. A cuban dining experience at this funky new restaurant in Malibu. Dancing the night away with turkish coffee to keep us on our feet here . The weekend continues with a special debutante fashion show tomorrow preparing my make up brushes for this early morning affair. Thank you for your lovely comments can wait to have a moment to visit soon.

twilight

Twilight , is the lluminating sheer cream primer from my favorite beauty line, Fresh.  I love the consistency of this primer leaves your skin feeling dewey and hydrated with evening primrose which has such antioxidant benefits as well as anti-aging. I take this in supplement form as well . I can't say enough about the Umbrian Clay foundation. Very hydrating, less is more, you don't need to use much yet gives lasting coverage, SPF 20! I layered over the primer and my skin was glowing all day long. FYI, purchases at Sephora are gifted with complimentary samples.  I always like to try a new perfume or have one for my cosmetic bag like this fig apricot one. Anti-aging products are my best friend. Fresh, Black Tea age delay face cream and eye cream are my overnighters I will let you know how youthful I look after using!  I haven't indulged in Sugar for a while and I missed it! Since it's all about the eyes this winter Dior gives me some dark sultry lashes with Blackout and  a second coat so I they look long and lush with Diorshow. As a make up artist I constantly like to learn from other's what rocks in their make up world. My Sephora artist was into Nars highlighting duos. I love Nars famous for the blush with the name that makes you gasp, and works. Now that I shared my favorites, what are yours?

let it glow

Candles are the festivity of every day life that make my nights dreamier and the holidays brighter. I had to resist buying some pumpkin scented candles today instead I wanted to appreciate some simple voltives I have that I simply add a little pumpkin pie spice and vanilla home fragrance from the Body Shop and voila instant ambience! Here are some of my favorite candles anytime but especially scented for the Holidays. The Pacifica Mexican Soy Candle is a mix of chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg, almond, clove, and patchouli, reminiscent of Mexico's famous hot cocoa yummy enough to satisfy my sweet craving! What are your favorites, seasonal or anytime?

jo malone

I first discovered the beautiful fragrances of Jo Malone in the U.K. where she originated, shopping at Harrods. Once I discovered that she was the daughter of a beautician I knew that it wasn't just luck that brought her to deliver the aromatic scents of botanicals and organic products in her skin care, candles, and colognes. I love theLime Basil and Mandarin cologne and can't wait to try the White Jasmine and Mint. My favorite skin care. the Orange & Geranium Night Cream makes my skin glow and with it's citrus and light floral scent it's no wonder I sleep so well. The Green Tea & Honey Eye Cream is nourishing and anti-inflammatory with vitamin E and rich in anti-oxidants. When traveling I treat myself to the Orange blossom shower gel and slather on the Grapefuit body lotion. The evocative scent of Blue Agava & Cacao home candle on a summer night makes reading before bed a dream.

when opportunity knocks

I open the door. I enjoyed a traffic free ride and beautiful beach breeze to Redondo Beach where I went on my first interview in 10 years since my audition for Trucco. I was very early so I took in the sights as I drove and after passing a few starbucks, decided to get my fix. I took the time sipping my smoothie to add some notes you can never be over prepared for an interview. The opportunity to interview for Beauty 360 came from one of my beauty blogs. I had a good feeling about the concept of this upscale pharmacy with lots of prestigious name, fragrance, skin care and cosmetic lines. I recall one of my European travels to a hair show led me to a pharmacy where I was first introduced to one of my favorite beauty lines. The european pharmacies carry everything including luxury cosmetics not just prescriptions. So what was the outcome? It was an offer I had to refuse, actually I would have to give up my Saturday's in the salon,(one of my busiest and most profitable days) and be available for training ASAP for 3 weeks. I have 3 weddings in the next 3 weeks and a photo shoot. It's not something people take lightly when you drop that kind of cancellation news. After sharing the news with my mother, she was so wise to remind me that the benefits, might be worth the change since I am not going to be this young forever, OUCH!
