pin me up

Sexy, soft, silhouettes, like this, are timeless and make me want to pin up some hair and watch as a style comes to life
have you noticed red is taking over in the hair color department?

What do you think? Is she better as a redhead or blonde?

I hope you spend some time dreaming, and reading, and doing the things you love this weekend.
Ah the allure of a luxurious bath and some salts to soak my aching feet, it's been a busy day.

rambling around {my summer boots}

My last post here had a list of possible summer wedges and espadrilles. I found my shoes, and as you can see they are far from an open toe sandal or wedge, but hopefully comfy and definitely  stylish behind the chair. You like?

more little black dresses

the best little black dresses in my closet
I treasure are the ones I have found
when I haven't been looking
Wearable jersey fabric is always a favorite in this unexpected hot October weather
Now all I need to decide is what shoes to wear

Hello hot loves, with temperatures scorching here in L.A. the last thing I was looking for yesterday was a little black dress. But, I have to say walking by Ann Taylor ,  and seeing one of my favorite redheads, Karen Elson's pretty face, brought me browsing and leaving with two little black dresses that made me forget the heat.
Another healthy alternative to forget the heat is just go with it. Instead of waiting for the cool down in the evening. I left the doggies in air conditioned bliss while I sweated it out in a new yoga class. A great way to end my day and wake up feeling the nice pull of stretching. What better way to be inspired by looking good in those little black dresses, right? How's the weather in your hood?

miranda kerr * {el fringe}

This editorial titled El Cuerpo of Miranda Kerr, that is. I have affectionately coined it El Fringe. For no one could look this spectacular growing theirs out like she does in this editorial. After seeing this
recent pic of her I decided I'm doing it again this fall, the fringe that is. What the heck it always grows right? Check out the full editorial here.

*There is no literal translation for bangs it is one of those words that we say the same en Español y Inglés.

fearless femininity

Just came back from a Sebastian update,  The Collection; Velvet Vertico, voluminous, wearable haircuts like these shown. Full Frontal, a not so classic bob with an undercut edge, that can be styled in to a daring Mowawk Plume. Celestial Sphere, a shoulder length hair cut that is not your usual feathered friend weight is defined, and balanced with soft curves, think of an hourglass. Swinging Shapely, long, layers, with a lighter texture created with shears and softly skimming of the razor with soft bangs, swinging softly to the side. This season's collection inspiration comes from Fashion, as in this designer's classy clothes collection, feminine and girly with decadent flamboyance.  Design, objects that would normally be associated with the masculinity show femininity with a bling. To get the best of these weightless, voluminous, dramatic looks, start out with Volupt Shampoo and conditioner and Volupt Spray gel to define these disconnected haircuts as you style. For more support, Mousse Forte and Shaper Zero Gravity for waves, and curls, in curvaceous forms.
More great news to share, congratulations to Megan, you are the winner of this gift away posted here.
 I am looking forward to hearing if it will be a touchdown for me in the giveaway posted today at Amber's Notebook.

boots + booties

Posting a quickie before I have a computer meltdown couldn't help but share these lovely things I came across. Love a glitzy shoe as seen here, especially to pick up some of the black and champagne in my fall wardrobe. My new birthday boots are suede and silver as shown here. I love that they are comfortable and go perfect with leggings and skinny jeans that I bought here. Speaking of skinny have you seen this new campaign add in V magazine? What do you think?

mangiare madonna

This recent pictorial for Dolce Gabanna is tantalizing. Madonna with a plate of Spaghetti and in the kitchen no less. I have loved the material girl for years. She is an inspiration from yoga to pilates  and hanging with the hotties. This 50 something aritista is doing whatever it takes to stay present to the possibilities with her constant re-invention.

karl calendar

Loving the new 2010 Calendar from Chanel designer, Karl Lagerfield. With glimpses from golden moments of Italian cinema , with nods to the likes of Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida and Marcello Mastroianni.  I think what inspires me the most about the nod to an era past is the wavy, glamourous, looking hair. Completely void of flat irons and a little finger wave inspiration.  The multi-tasking designer pointed his camera this time at two favorite subjects – actress and Chanel ambassador Anna Mouglalis and hunky model Baptiste Giabiconi – dressing them in a range of European cruise collections, a smattering of couture. Enjoy the images, of champagne, martini's, little black dresses, tuxedo's, flirty fluttery tulle and all the lovely sensations of Holiday celebrations. What are your weekend plans? Have a lovely one.

sonia rykiel for h&m

The Parisian launch of the Sonia Rykiel for H&M collection At the Grand Palais the night was transformed into a fantasy version of the city of love. With all of the quirkiness and fun that fashion should have. Girls with wild hair on bikes sporting Sonia's knitwear line that will be launched in February. The latest lingerie line will be available this Saturday, December 5 and in my hometown store in Pasadena. I included some of my favorites and of course it's all about the wild, curly hair, looks good with sexy lingerie don't you think? This kind of kinkiness in the hair can be achieved by taking wide and sections of hair and spraying with a little shine and define wrap around the barrel of a small to medium size curling iron and voila!
