color me pretty {make-up monday}

Shopping for make up is always an experience even for this make up artist
The lovely Olivia Palermo inspires me, with a pop of pink on her pouty lips, how-to, tips below
Currently growing out my hair and loving these upswept romantic updo's
 If I can find some as dazzling jewels as her's from Forever 21 I will be one happy girl

It's Monday and I have make up on the mind. A little Sephora shopping trip never hurts.
Yesterday in the company of a five year old, It's not surprising I couldn't keep her away from the colorful pops of pink all over. She even inspired me to ditch my natural neutrals and try a little pop of color for spring. A little blotting with a soft tissue after applying color leaves a soft stain on those pouty lips. Of course I had to remind her of the rules of testing out make up from a counter. Sanitize your hands first, wipe off excess before applying. Use new and sanitary applicator brushes and sponges only. Don't hesitate about asking for a new tester if you are serious about purchasing especially for lip and eye products where the double dipping usually occurs.  Feeling like showing off a little skin I left with an illuminating tinted moisturizer and some oil free foundation that lets my skin glow. dainty and demure {hair by malcom edwards}

undone hair has a bit of a romantic feel when you pair it with a headband
leaving a hair mask in my ever growing long hair I added a floral headband to a soft messy chignon
 I even tried on a hat, this one reminds me of the bowler hat in one of my favorite movies here
 a simple headband can do wonders and a floral one can dress up even a bad hair day
Just remember this season it's not about perfect but you can still keep it soft and sexy

I was over the top when I saw this editorial. It only seems suiting that Malcom Edwards would be the lead hairdresser. I have long been a fan of his over the top hair, much like Tim Walker inspired editorials grandiose in presentation and eye catching appeal. Have you noticed the hair all over the runway's this season mimic a very soft, sexy, and ruffled appearance and lots of braids like this one? For everyday off the runway here are some great tips from the man himself. My favorite Malcom Edwards editorial with the lovely Kate Moss here . Some lovely headbands here

cut it out {holiday hairdos}

How can something so messy looks so sexy?
Side swept updo with a few wisps left out
headbands are not just for the gym a little embellishment to a sleek beehive
This look reminds me of my favorite lovely Latina, Eva Mendes
Pretty little twists make your party exit unforgettable
I love this eye catching look along with the messy low slung knot

Always open to new ideas when clients bring me tear sheets of a hair cut or style. Here are some Holiday hair do's for you to take to your hairdresser to share, or try yourself. Here are some of my favorites, What about yours? you can browse for more holiday hairdo's here

inspiration {runway hair}

The beauty of fashionable wearable hair

at first sight I thought she looked like the lovely Alicia Silverstone, don't you think?

I love it all from the frontal view to the back what every one sees as she walks off the catwalk

Checking out the latest runway looks inspires me in and out of the salon
bump it up
finding balance with hair is crucial, as in life..
a little white residue from baby powder on hair to create a matte look
a little help from an assistant is priceless with longer wafts of hair like this
I get tips from my colleagues and even my mom, she is a big fan of longer hair pins
concentration is key even with the paparazzi around
nothing like a fully stocked make up kit

simple twist {wedding updo inspiration}

I have been preparing for a September wedding that I will be working on. Hair and make up included. What I do to prepare is look at trends of the Season and create something lovely and timeless (after all these wedding pics will be viewed for years to come). Sometimes my own personal style can be to avant garde like this editorial look that I lust after. A simple photo can tell a story too so I encourage them. For a simple twist, I am really loving the first and second pic.  The last is my least favorite, I feel like if you are going to wear a chignon in a wedding it needs to be bigger and built up like this. This is the time to make an ordinary style, extraordinary. Hair extensions and a simple twist can do wonders. Which look do you fancy? More hair embellishments here.
